Parents and Supporters Group

The Parents and Supporters Group purpose is to support the work of the section leaders by providing

funds and resources for the activities of all sections within the Group.

All parents are automatically allowed to be part of this team.

Fund raising activities are a major part of the work of the Group and help and support is

always needed to raise the funds necessary to run the Scout and Guide Groups.

Annually the Group has to raise approximately £7000 to cover the cost of the Headquarters,

our Minibus, Leader training and replacing and renewing camping and activity equipment.

Although a portion of the weekly subscriptions from members is passed to the Group, there is

still approximately £3000 to raise through funding raising events and any grants from other charities

and local authorities.

Gift Aid is a valuable source of income for the Group, raising some £1000 per year. All parents are requested to sign

a Gift Aid form enabling the Group to reclaim the tax paid on the subscriptions paid to the Group.

This currently amounts to approximately 28p for every £1 paid in subscriptions. The only condition

is that you are a current tax payer. Forms are available from section leaders or by downloading by clicking

on the link below. Please return completed forms to any section leader.

The Group meets on the second Monday of each month in the HQ at 8.00pm and welcome all those

interested in helping to raise money and support the work of our leaders.
